Hmmm. I never saw the original series and I’m not at all familiar with the Battlestar universe but since Sci-Fi decided to bring the series back from the grave (with a few modifications apparently) I feel compelled to see what it is all about. And I can’t stand murky 70s sci-fi anyway so this is probably for the best …

Anyway, the 2003 mini series has now been commissioned into a stand-alone series that has just started to air. The fans of the original series seem to be experiencing a collective heart attack but as far as I am concerned the pieces have all been laid out for an entertaining sci-fi production. I hope it lasts. I’d hate to see it turn into another dreary drama with a sci-fi preface. So far I’m getting bad “24″ and “West Wing” vibes. God I wish they’d bring back “Earth Above and Beyond”.
