Election Punches

I’ve scavenged the net for funny Political Punches and cartoons relating to the upcoming US election and put them in the Gallery. Because if you can’t laugh at all the commotion, what can you do?

Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars

For starters I’d like to say that even though I enjoy certain elements of Farscape, it is hardly the quintessential sci-fi. While generally too much hysterical fannying about and slightly on the childish side, it also has some of the most deeply profound story lines and fulfilling universes of all series that I’ve seen to […]

Forum offline

I suspended the forum indefinitely. No use in having it running, just wasting CPU cycles and bandwidth. The ForumBOX also got some time off. Saves me a bunch of SQL queries a day. God knows this site is not programmed with efficiency in mind.

More Workstation 2

Had another batch of components delivered on my doorstep. Seems that if you manage to make the package bulky enough they’ll transport if for free nowadays. Didn’t know that. Normally only businesses get door-to-door delivery in this post-reformation postal era. It would sure suck to go and get a monitor package at the local supermarket […]

Sci-fi mission statement Q3

What can one do to pass the time around here. Sci-fi series are always a welcomed interruption in the every day gloom. I think it’s time for a mission statement for Q3 2004.
Star Trek Enterprise Having watched most of seasons one and two on Swedish television I eventually had to move to BitTorrent. Swedish television […]

“E-sports” in the headlines

Who would have thought. But wait, why would anyone write a story about “E-sports” anyway? (who came up with the silly name btw?) So far no respectable analog news sources have shown any interest in the field and even scientists have shown little interest in so called social gaming. Well here’s why …
At first […]

Making of the terror myth

The BBC is broadcasting a three part documentary series, starting next Wednesday, titled The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear that takes on the terror myth and adds a fair bit of social analysis.
Adam Curtis presents a world gone terribly wrong and examines what many have been taking for granted. […]

Home networking worth a damn

It has long since been a nuisance for me not to be able to establish a network setup to its full capacity. File and printer sharing has been offline and FTP / Radmin services have been dodgy to say the least. Now at last, I worked out how to get it to work properly with […]

Resident Evil 2

Had a chance to see it and I have to say it’s another solid piece of work by Paul Anderson, the man who never fails to deliver a plot and avoid complete calamity, but has also never produced a critically acclaimed movie and forever remains a mediocrity. In this case however, mediocrity is good. One […]
