Very true. The site was one of a kind. I think all of the 100.000 registered users would agree to that.
I worked really hard to acquire a decent user class and now it’s all gone. Crap. Not that it really slows me down in any way, nor anyone else in the torrent community. I must confess that I sometimes skipped Torrentbits just so that I wouldn’t damage my quota.
More info about their fate here. It does not appear that Torrentbits.org was shut down due to direct legal action. More of a result of administration woes and the sheer workload of keeping the thing running.
