Frolic, rinse, repeat

Ok, here we go with culture and traditions again. Christmas is all but over once again and if I only get by New Year’s I’m all set for another year free of participation in any major traditions. Xmas in the only institutionalized tradition left with the potency to really touch you in any way and the only one that involves extensive preparation and actual work (even though some still think it’s fun and that it’s a holiday). It is in many ways the last outpost. And one that I’d gladly do away with. Sure it wouldn’t be the same thing, but who is to say that the alternative would be any worse? I guess some would say I am a bitter person with an impoverished mind and drained of all cultural value. Well, I say your shallowness, your lavishness and your easygoingness is a threat to all of us and an insult to me personally.

One can hope. But I fear not. In reality I foresee a year that will accentuate everything that is unhealthy and vile. Who can afford to be merry these days …
