Yes indeed, eXeem has finally entered open beta. It should be very interesting to see how it goes. As it stands searches can be a little slow and not much is shared. But that is bound to change. The addition of the Cydoor advert system has upset quite a few people though. Not too good PR. And it is closed source of course which doesn’t help either. Anyway, it looks like eXeem will be getting the same treatment as Kazaa once did, with a lite version in the works.

Lets give it a chance at least. Right now I’m quite comfortable with the centralized torrent sources that I have .. but desperate times require a decentralized branching of the BitTorrent protocol. I do however share the pessimism regarding this eXeem project. But hey, we’re all friends within the community and we have one common goal in the destruction of IP laws, whether we consciously acknowledge it or not. All piracy is good piracy.

Also, speaking of BitTorrent, I’m pleased to see that Torrentz.com is back from limbo. Much of what was lost with Torrentbits and Suprnova has been replenished. I salute those that have stepped forward and picked up the torch. All in all, life is returning to normal.
