EFF has posted a thought-provoking paraphrasing of sorts of the Endangered Species list. They call it the Endangered Gizmos! Much like extinct species, it’s difficult, if not impossible to reverse the process. When it’s done it’s done. And for a reason that wont just go away. Kind of like the Dodo, even if it did happen to appear out of thin air, chances are that the same narrow-minded people who ate it the last time around would see another scrumptious meal and extinguish it all over again. And in the case of gizmos, laws and powerful interests will have effectively buried innovation and whatever branching there could have been, impoverishing all of mankind.
