A few days old but still. JURI voted 19-2 to take the proposed law back to the drawing board. By a moderate estimate it will be years before we will see the next draft for a directive and hopefully this time around everything will be different. What a relief. It’s important since we will now surely take a different path from the US and prevent ending up in the same legal inferno as they did.
And to think that it actually came so close of being approved before the public opinion and MEPs realized what the Council was about to do. There is hope for the European Union still it seems. And much of it is thanks to the fresh perspective of new eastern member countries.
