What a surprise. Swedish Karolinska Institute allowed another breach of their extensive Biobank material. This time to help ID tsunami victims. While not related to criminal activity as last time, this is still noteworthy.
Am I the only one who can see the danger here? It’s not in any way innocent or commendable and in the long run it could work to sway the attitudes of the mindless populous and practises towards infringing on civil liberties and opening up the biobanks for anyone to dig through. And who knows what kind of data the authorities “just happened” to pull while the register was opened up for the Tsunami event.
Lie once, cheat twice … and it might soon be common practise. Before you know it your DNA, finger prints, retinal scan, brain pattern, body odour, breath analysis and voice print will all be neatly tucked into some government archive. And why not implant a RFID GPS biochemically fueled locator while you’re at it.
And it is all linked to tougher measures (”Hårdaretagismen”). One has to question why we would need to keep better track of people. Specifically our own people. We didn’t need it ten or twenty years ago and we certainly do not need it now. Attitudes have changed a lot however. We feel less secure. We are told the world is a more dangerous place, but it is not. We are told crime is on the rise, but it is not. The same people of the elite provide both the ends (a safer police state) and the means (more control, public lies, terror) to the endless waltz of society. The decease and the cure are both artificial creations in that they do not exist … yet.
I’m sorry but I’ve had it with this trend. I will not stand by and see this country go the same way as the USA. The immediate danger is obviously that we have a register that not even the most totalitarian American neo-con could dream of .. and herein lies the problem. The register was designed for another time and other and more noble purposes. It cannot be allowed to exist in an age that places less and less value on the integrity of the individual and is more focused on flimsy attempts of world domination. I’d like to see this invaluable research material kept, but in light of recent events, Sweden jumping in bed with the USA a couple of times too many, I can see no other course of action but to either destroy it, anonymize it or harshly regulate access to the material. I have little confidence in the ability of the Swedish government to oversee the handling of this data though and KI will most likely fold every time someone in a uniform knocks on their door.
I have to say that this Tsunami thing has been very enlightening. The amount of material that has just fallen in my lap over the last month has been overwhelming. It has helped expose not one but several elite agendas, possibly prematurely. Maybe this will help us vanquish them or maybe this was the unfortunate event that facilitated their implementation. We will see. With a little pressure, people start making some pretty interesting mistakes and the cracks in the wall become all the more visible.
