Seems like PS9 has hit the streets. Or the net anyway. The major new features include …
- Timesaving file handling with Adobe Bridge
- Revolutionary Vanishing Point
- Multiple layer control
- Smart Objects
- Multi-image digital camera raw file processing
- Image Warp
- Advanced noise reduction
- 32-bit High Dynamic Range (HDR) support
- Customizable workspaces and menus
- Spot Healing Brush
- One-click red-eye correction
Plus a wysiwyg font browser. Finally! Overall it seems that Adobe has put far more work into PS9 compared to its hyped predecessor. Some people will undoubtedly say that red-eye correction is bloat since anyone with half a talent can do it blindfolded, but if it saves even a couple of seconds it’s worth it. Lots of other small features aimed at the digital photo people as well.
I just hope they’ve fixed the PNG gamma problems and enabled smarter PNG-256 alpha export functions. That has been a major gripe now for years.
