“She’s an evil murderer”

Schwarzenegger unbending on Swedish convict

Californian governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that a Swedish woman who has served 24 years in jail for murder is not yet ready to be returned to Sweden.
Annika Östberg Deasy has asked to be allowed to come back to Sweden, where she lived until she was 11. But in an interview […]

MPA and colonialism

Q. What does the Motion Picture Association (MPA) have in common with the pre-revolutionary colonial British?

A. They get to use general warrants.
General search warrants are part of what caused the American Revolution. Now it’s the legal tool of choice for the movie industry in its war against copyright infringement — or at least, the tool […]

Smug Linux gits

Some old coot and Linux guru from the old days muses over, satirizes why people shouldn’t use Linux, makes fun of some very valid reasons why Linux hasn’t hit big. My personal favourite is this …

Reason number three: Linux doesn’t have enough applications
Really now. I mean, most Linux systems only come with secure Web browsers, […]

Hollywood faces the music

About time.

Of course, we all know that Hollywood is having a rough time in the theatres, but what’s surprising about this New York Times article is that the studios are apparently now beginning to entertain one theory pertaining to their dwindling tickets sales that I never thought I’d see: that’s right, they’re on to the […]

Joining the Terrorists?

Sweden targets US terror cooperation. Cooperating with terror indeed … US state terrorism.

Sweden and the US are to begin joint research into how certain kinds of terrorist attacks can be prevented.
The Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) has been instructed by the government to negotiate an agreement with America’s Department of Homeland Security, which was formed […]

Blackmore’s Night announces new album

Blackmore’s Night announces new album.

BLACKMORE’S NIGHT, the band featuring former DEEP PURPLE/RAINBOW guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and his fiancée Candice Night, have set “Village Lanterne” as the title of their new album, tentatively due in early 2006 via SPV Records. A single, “I’ll Be There (Just Call My Name)”, will precede the album on September 5.

Stratovarius - Stratovarius

Finally something interesting on the metal scene. And melodic metal from Stratovarius no less. Stratovarius was reunited earlier this year with the classic line-up. This is their 15th album if I’m not mistaken, a self-titled creation that propels Stratovarius to new heights after a weak couple of years. It sure warms the heart as dusk […]

Iron Maiden pelted with eggs

… during Ozzfest; Sharon Osbourne calls Bruce Dickinson a ‘prick’. Sharon still needs her psychopharmaca.

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received a number of e-mails regarding last night’s (August 20) Ozzfest concert in Devore (near San Bernardino), California, which reportedly included an on-stage appearance following IRON MAIDEN’s set by Sharon Osbourne during which she called MAIDEN vocalist Bruce […]

A Nation of Indians

Via The Daily Show …
“The most religious nation in the world is India. The least religious nation in the world is Sweden. We’re a nation of Indians, ruled by Swedes.”

A real gem from something called Justice Sunday II, where white Christian conservatives get together and act as if they are somehow persecuted.
And like India, the […]

Catholic Matrix Spoof Poster

Really. This is in fact not a FARK or Worth1000 photoshop contest.

“Just as Keanu Reeves fought against the powers of evil, a priest comes to help people fight against sin. There is a battle out there,” explained Father Jonathan Meyer, associate director of youth and young adult ministry for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
He made the […]
