Joe Beyers of HP talks about the patent trolls as he calls them. No one is denying that there are those that take advantage of IP laws but here is the problem with Beyers’ argument. First he notes that some “trolls” are in fact legitimate players who are fighting the good fight against companies that have ripped off inventors. Second, he wants change but he is apparently unwilling to change the various draconian IP laws that are providing protection for corporations and trolls alike. This is exactly what critics of ever increasing IP laws have been warning us about all along. One must appreciate the irony here, since some people have turned the weapons of the industry against the very same.
