War Rock is a new online game that closely mimics, say Battlefield, with the slight difference that it is free. Made by a Korean company called Dream Execution. I find this development extremely hopeful, with Korean companies just don’t giving a damn about fees and shrink wrapped boxes when Blizzard and Sony charges about $15 a month for online play. Though unlike SilkRoad Online and GunZ, it is uncertain if this game will remain free beyond the Open Beta. Regardless, I mean Open Beta, Sony and Blizzard couldn’t even do that much for us and instead had to control the whole affair or go through 3rd party proprietary services, like Gamespot and Fileplanet. Boo!
Also, for laughs one could head over to Digg and listen in on the rather paranoid debate going on. Lots of Americans essentially exclaiming how one shouldn’t download free stuff from foreign sources. Both being bad of course. I suppose that is unpatriotic too these days. Oh boy.
