New version is out in what is still the most widely used and appreciated weblog / light CMS line of code on the market. Extremely hyped of course, with only modest changes overall. I mean, TinyMCE, that is just useless. I’ve tried every textarea replacement there is, while running Mambo and I can just note that it contributed to my decision to flush that entire script. Textarea replacements have a tendency to bungle up the code. They just do. Here is a list of plugins that WONT work with 2.0.

I run Wordpress at Silent Nation of course and have been relatively happy with it so far. Compared to Nucleus, there are plenty of functions out of the box. Not to mention anti-spam functions that are months beyond the level at which this blog is maintained. Wordpress 2.0 even ships with Akismet as I understand it. Though the other combination of Bad Behavior and Spam Karma 2 does just as good a job. So there is plenty to choose from. Not to mention WPG2 which FULLY integrates Gallery2 and Wordpress. The competition has a long way to go. I like the more technical aspects of Nucleus, but it’s hard to compete with something that is just intuitive and works right out of the box.
