Basically, messages are lost (coming up empty) and / or you can’t send or receive messages. Typically you’ll get a time-out when sending ONLINE messages to others, at least when communicating with Miranda users, even if YOU happen to have the updated ICQ plugin. OFFLINE messages still seem to work though. And it’s not really the fault of the Miranda dev team either since this only cropped up after ICQ decided to play around with their servers. Hence, ALL Miranda users need to upgrade and I imagine this could be true for other clones as well.

“Many users are currently experiencing problems with sending or receiving messages on the ICQ network. If you are having these problems, please upgrade your ICQ plugin to the latest version in the file listing (and tell your friends to do the same).”
