The US government is apparently concerned with anti-globalization activists, underground hackers and bloggers. Concerned enough to set up a massive dog and pony show, using pretty much every clueless agency as well as computers that weren’t even connected to the Internet. Lets call it a dry run then. Apparently the US government (with other nations’ governments in tow I presume) is awfully worried about the hackers, activists and bloggers. So mock attacks, demonizing and back-patting ensues. Needless to say, the whole exercise was deemed a massive success and everyone got their own pony and huge bag of cash.
Since globalization, like Chalmers Johnson would put it, “seems to boil down to the spread of poverty to every country except the United States” being “anti-globalization” is ostensibly being “anti-American.” And the US has unwittingly just confirmed this. As for “bloggers” this unprecedented free speech and democracy obviously doesn’t suit the “masters of the universe.” Blogs are far too numerous to threaten or buy off and while not always in depth or accurate, their contribution has been massive and their conviction heartfelt. As for misinformation or disinformation, the US would be better off mending its own fence given the official record which is apparent without digging into any “misinformation blogs.” Like the revealing globalization slip of tongue, it is apparent that power wants to have supreme monopoly over not only “activism” (government bona fide terrorism) but “hacking” and “blogging” (government disinformation) as well. Of course, claiming to fight the good fight also lends legitimacy to a governing body. The very same reason governments are so erratic in their handling of crime, which is still the number one rationale behind their existence. And when that is no longer good enough, the state needs the aforementioned monopoly to orchestrate false flag operations and to run psyops to control the public mind.
More the point perhaps, the sort of “cyber warfare” that is at the center of the show is more likely to come from the inside than from any esoteric haxxors envisioned by think tanks and desperate agencies.
