Sploid notes that a “San Diego woman got fired for having a bumper sticker on her car advertising a liberal talk-radio station, and now she’s suing her boss.” In the new America, an “Air America” bumper sticker is apparently equated with “terrorism.” According to the nazi manager in question, the U.S. is “on a high state of alert. For all I know, you could be Al-Qaeda.” Sure. What is perhaps most amusing here is that if Americans think that “Air America” and Al Franken are anti-american or whatever, they have no idea how passionately people hate their guts. Al Franken is just some wishy-washy partisan pundit.
It is ironic that even this left-wing / right-wing “controversy” serves the purpose of being able to avoid the really tough questions and get far away from a much needed scrutiny of the U.S. system and its history.
