Eurovision is looming once again, but this year thanks to Finland and Lordi, it promises to be quite an experience. And one that may well unsettle some of the godlier viewers throughout Europe.
The way this is going, in a few years time, perhaps the Eurovision Song Contest will even be a respectable institution. It will take more than Lordi to change the image of the ridiculed competition, but it’s a start. For those that remember, Nightwish tried to enter Eurovision via the Finnish qualification way back in 2000 with “Sleepwalker”, but were snubbed by the jury even though they won the televoting. It serves the critics right in a roundabout way that metal came back to haunt them in the form of Lordi.
