Boing Boing notes the Blank Noise Project. The campaign aims to raise awareness about sexual harassment, so called “eve teasing”, and women’s status in India in general.

The phenomenon, to which I must admit I was hitherto oblivious, I must assume, is a productive research topic in behavioral science. Definitely something to examine closer if one ever finds the time. Suffice it to say, these women have their work cut out for them. As for “eve teasing,” there seems to be no shortage of explanations, some of the most notable linking the practise to glorification of the theme in Bollywood movies and pointing to the side effect of a sexually repressive society. Chalk another one down for the negative effects of Bollywood movies.
