Heléne Lööw, Henrik Bachner and the Forum for Living History are at it again. This time with a survey (pdf 471KB) of “anti-Semitism” in Sweden.
The results, which appeared in Dagens Nyheter, showed that 26% believe that there is a ‘Jewish influence’ over the world’s economy, and 15% consider that influence to be ‘too great’. It also emerged that 14% believe that Jews use the Holocaust for political or economic ends.
By aggregating such statements and adding some statistical mumbo jumbo or whatever, they apparently concluded that this makes 5% of Swedes “anti-Semitic.”
This is not the first time that Lööw and her acolytes scratch their way to national attention. And she has found herself in hot water more than once, when for instance arbitrarily and without proof characterizing political parties and sympathizers on the left as more intolerant in terms of anti-Semitism / racism / homophobia. In the real world, it is actually the other way around, with “leftists” being the most tolerant, if that is even a meaningful index that we need to quibble over. The point is that Lööw is a scientific hack, a pundit and a rabble-rouser. And that this survey is itself motivated by anything but a wish for greater tolerance. Not to mention of course that the “irrational” distrust of Jews is, except perhaps for that last 5%, quite rational. Needless to say, the so called research echoes every major talking point of the Zionists and Israel’s apologists. For instance, in their judgement, Jews can never be responsible for anti-Semitism. And similarly, questioning the use of the Holocaust meme and equating this with extortion apparently indicates “age-old stereotypes of greed and usury” and hence defaults to anti-Semitism. But I do have to commend them for their creative efforts to almost appear to have entered into the field with an open mind.
So what is the most prominent indication of Jewish influence? Is it the overrepresentation in the U.S. government and its various tendrils? Or the successful lobby organizations and international extortion schemes?
Actually this survey itself proves the point with the massive headlines and mindless politically correct outrage it provoked. Instant comments and pledges from the prime minister etc. No other similar data would have produced the same result. Noting that Muslims and non-European immigrants are far worse off will get you a shrug, and a sigh at best.
The very idea that we have a government funded center for Living History that despite claims to the contrary are only scrutinizing the same issue over and over again, trying to humble Sweden and silent the critics of Israel. The first step towards doing this being of course to establish that criticism of Jews in general and Israel in particular is irrational and can only be because of ignorance or paranoia. All on taxpayers’ money.

This is a slap in the face of people who actually suffer from racism, in Sweden and abroad. Those that could only dream of being accepted by 95% of the population. Those that do not peddle the persecution myth to rally sympathy and selfishly alter geopolitics to their advantage. Those that do not by and large support a prophetic, colonial fatherland, built on the blood and bones of others.
