Mp3 Insider notes that suckers who buy DRM music online face a severely limited battery life with their portable players. While the test may seem unfair to some, comparing different formats (MP3 vs. DRM WMA), that is really not a valid complaint since you can’t choose the format to have DRM:ed when you buy music online. It may be that WMA 10 just requires more processor cycles to decode and that DRM check isn’t all to blame for the battery drain. But since DRM stores force you to use WMA, the end result is the same and DRM is nevertheless the culprit.

Like CD Freaks points out, DRM actually endangers the environment.
