Boing Boing highlights a new grassroots movement [notyoursoldier.org] within the U.S. aiming to raise awareness about recruitment specifically and the system of militarization in general.
Not Your Soldier Action Camps bring together young people who are heavily targeted by military recruitment. At the camps, youth learn how to take action to fight military recruitment, the poverty draft, and the corporations that profit off of war.

They also encourage people to see the provocative Sir! No Sir! documentary about the largely forgotten GI resisters in the Vietnam War. I second that. If anything, Sir! No Sir! shows that even the mightiest of empires can be forced to change its policies as the citizens and thus the basis for power choose noncompliance.
