Opposition Leader At Bilderberg

Bilderberg 2006 came and went and almost no one noticed. As the group meetings are subject to the Chatham House Rule of Confidentiality one cannot say much of the content. But the guest list speaks plenty. For starters, I guess someone is very interested in dictating policy in Sweden this autumn. And what better way to get a foot in the door than to fraternize with Swedish opposition leader Fredrik Reinfeldt and continue a long running tradition of conservative party participation at Bilderberg and other shady gatherings (Carl Bildt attended no less than six times during the zenith of his influence plus the token participation this year). Well, it would seem a new prince of insufficient light has been anointed after a few meager years of lackluster Swedish participation.

Having rubbed shoulders with some of the worst contemporary mass murderers must really be something to scribble down in your CV. I mean, between the lot of them they must have killed a few million people directly and indirectly.

The issues in Ottawa contain for example European-American politics, energy, terrorism, immigration, China and Russia.

Most of the 130 participants arrive from Europe and North-America. From the USA participate Robert Zoellick, Allan B. Hubbard, Henry Kissinger and David Rockefeller.

From Europe arrive George A. Papandreou (Greece), Fredrik Reinfeldt (Sweden), Alfred Gusenbauer (Austria) and Andris Piebalgs (EU).

Alex Jones has the documents to confirm the participation. Make sure to check out Jones’ escapades trying to get to the meeting as well.

Some would argue that all the fuss over Bilderberg is just one big conspiracy theory. And one that belongs with the radical right. That is just a convenient and lazy way to discredit the critics of course. Even if it could shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that no plotting or coercion was involved, it would still be seriously wrong for world leaders (and a great deal of celebrity shills) to fraternize in this fashion and to form informal social bonds that could indirectly shape policy. Not to mention the lack of insight and the infamous butchers on the guest list. As for the alleged “freewheeling” discussions, they aren’t worth the hot air they produce. Not when you’ve got delusional conformists who claim to have a healthy debate but in reality only disagree on certain details of implementation and produce the same ordure.

Consider this. The political right has not lifted a finger to inform us of the Bilderberg participation. Or indeed boast in the usual self-congratulatory manner. I did a quick search of the Swedish blogosphere and came up with not a single mention of Reinfeldt’s excursion. Not a single item in favour nor any form of criticism. The silence is indeed deafening.

UPDATE For all you Swedish folks out there I’d recommend a closer look at what happened when a lone activist, “Maggot”, approached Reinfeldt after a public speech made in Gothenburg ( bakground | youtube ). Reinfeldt behaved weasly to say the least, stalling to get away from perfectly legitimate questions that he could have chosen to brush off elegantly. But this was apparently much too sensitive. The activist in question got temporarily detained by police when he wouldn’t stop asking these much needed questions. So I guess we can surmise that this is some sort of admission of guilt. Reinfeldt must feel that he has done something wrong, which would indicate some sort of moral spine, atrophied as it may be.
And since Carl Bildt conveniently became minister for foreign affairs — unlikely as it was after his supposed retirement from politics — you could say that the kingmakers of the Bilderberg group has got a full house this time. All in all very suspicious when you consider the political shift that swept them into power.
